Less Stress, More Wedding Planning Fun!

First off, Congratulations on your engagement! Are you excited?! Have you been looking at all types of wedding inspiration pictures on social medial platforms? How many have you saved? How many wedding folders have you created? How many pictures have you received from your sister, best friend, mom, etc? What colors have you chosen? I know that seems like a lot to answer. (Sorry for the question overload. Lol!) But, this is just how much you can be bombarded with when planning a wedding.

Did that make you feel anxious? Did you feel overwhelmed?

This is what we DON'T want to happen when planning your special day! So, let's talk about how this can be avoided.

Planning a wedding can be an exhilarating yet overwhelming experience. From choosing the perfect venue to coordinating with vendors and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the big day, there's a lot to consider. However, with careful planning and organization, you can create the wedding of your dreams without succumbing to stress.

The first thing you should do is grab a binder ---whichever color speaks to you (get a few plastic inserts and cute stickers if you'd like) --- and create your wedding binder! This is going to become your "sidekick." Keep it with you at all times because you will never know when you may need to refer to it. It will hold all of the important aspects of your wedding. Color palette, menu, hired vendors, everything wedding related will be placed in this binder as it will be the keeper of all things wedding! You can grab a printable wedding planner here . Place it into your binder to help you get started and keep your wedding details organized!

Now that you have your wedding binder all set up, the next thing to do is to fill in all of those categories. Contact vendors to schedule consultations, select your color palette, plan venue site visits, choose bridesmaids dresses, and so on. Although you have quite a bit to cover and finalize before your BIG day, the stress of it all can be alleviated by staying organized (your wedding binder) and having a guide + checklist to assist. It's Time to Bring Life Back Into Your Home!

Have you walked into your home and it makes you feel "blah?" I'm not going to cut around any corners here--- it's time for a Refresh! As we grow, certain aspects of our lives change--so does our home needs. It's time to change it up to better fit you, holistically.

Here are a few tips to help you get started. You may have to take a few days to do this but it's important to do. And, be very honest with yourself.

Write down what you like and don't like about your home.
Write down what you'd like to change and what needs to be changed.
Next, write down HOW you want to FEEL in your home. (This is probably the most important. I'll cover this in another blog.)
Once you have all of this written down, it's time to make a Plan. If there are multiple areas that you would like to change, take it room-by-room until you've gotten your complete space just the way you want it.

Creating a home that speaks to your wants, desires, AND needs is very important for your "home sweet home!"

"Boo" Brunch Anyone?

Let's set the table for a "boo"tiful dining experience!

It’s October and we all know what that means—-Halloween is right around the corner. The stores are filled with all sorts of fun costumes and more candy than customers can ever buy! (There’s always candy leftover after Halloween!)

Soon, the kids will be all dressed up and running door-to-door to score yummy treats. (Hold the tricks!) This is also a time for some of the adults to get all decked out in their favorite costumes for a chance to win the “Best Costume” award at a friend’s spooky bash. Others may choose a more subtle way to celebrate the holiday, such as a Halloween Brunch for friends. {This is something I can get with too! ;-)}

Are you the “brunching” type, then read on!

Brunching with friends/family is fun for any occasion. But, you must have an eye-catching table setting to bring the event together. It adds to the overall decor of the event-- enhancing the atmosphere for tons of "picture-perfect" shots to come.

Closet Drama?! Let's Fix That!

It's time to "Correct the Chaos" in your Closet!

Imagine you're in a rush and not being able to find something important; perhaps that lucky blazer or those perfect fitting pants. Did you feel the panic rising within? Here's another. Imagine stepping into the closet and suddenly feeling like you're suffocating from the items being EVERYWHERE! You know, kind of just thrown in there. (Whew! That's a horrible feeling!)

Unfortunately, that's how an unorganized closet (space) can make you feel. On the other hand, a neatly organized space can decrease anxiety and give you a sense of happiness and peace.

Storage and organization are a HUGE part of creating the perfect space---in this case, your closet. Being organized can save time, money, and it gives you an overall sense of cleanliness. {Right?! ;-)} Taking the time to declutter and organize your space (closet) will change your life--- in a REALLY good way.

As with any project, it's important to take a look and make a list of what you'll need. For a closet makeover, consider items such as shoe organizers, sturdy hangers, and cubby bins--just to name a few. You can find many neat items at your local home stores. Amazon also has many products. Check out some of those great finds here .

Now, it wouldn't be right to send you off to handle such a task without equipping you with handy tools to help you along the way! (I wouldn't dare.)

Well, in this case, tips = tools! So, below are a few tips to help you get started.

Discard anything that hasn't been used or worn within the last 2 years. (I choose 2 years because it gives you at least 2 full rounds of season changes.)
If you pick it up and have to ask either of the below questions, it's time to get rid of it.

- What is this?

- Will I use or wear this?

Give everything its own place. This will make the process of choosing items easy as well as replacing them. And it'll surely keep you in line as the days go by.
Lastly, have fun with it! :-)

Blue or Pink?! Gender Reveals...what do you think?

It's the "in" thing!

Gender reveals have been making their way on the pink and blue scenes. Many are adopting this new, trendy way of sharing baby's gender to family and friend. In some cases, the parents are unaware of the gender until this day. From pink and blue smoke bombs (non-harmful of course) to pink and blue confetti air poppers, makes learning the baby's gender very exciting.

It doesn't stop there!

Creative themes are also put into place for reveals such as "What will it "Bee?" --a bumble bee reveal. This really cute idea is a favorite among the do-it-yourself planning crowds. And, we can understand why. It's pretty adorable! Just think about the many ways this theme can be decorated. For a guest's "take home happy", you can create mini mason jars filled with honey and tie a pink or blue ribbon around the jar's neck. CUTENESS OVERLOAD!

Prepping for this amazing day can be a task. But, it's so much fun and well worth it. Here are some of my favorite items that will help bring your gender reveal together in a snap!

Creating the perfect space!

Do you remember playing dress up as a kid? Maybe you tried on dad's hat and boots...that certainly swallowed your feet. Or, how about mom's beautiful pearls and her favorite high heels?

The feeling that went along with those memorable times is more than just a "happy" feeling. It was joy and excitement! For me, there was also a slight sense of empowerment; simply because I was able to mix and match to CREATE the look I wanted and I was CONFIDENT about the outcome. No one dictated the look so, of course, that meant the sky was the limit!

Designing your home can give you that same feeling! Color palettes, eye-catching accessories, breathtaking wall decor...and the list continues.

Focus on having fun with your home. It doesn't matter if you are designing a meditation room, the kid's play room or the kitchen-- choose pieces that speak to YOU.
